Behind The Scenes with Riley Price

Meet Riley, one of the faces behind Mamph this season. We chat with her behind the scenes of our e-commerce shoot, and get to know her a little more. We hope you enjoy!

How old are you and where are you from?

I'm 22! I grew up in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast and that was the only place I had ever lived but I recently moved to Byron Bay for a new job opportunity that came up in the middle of this year. I am loving living in Byron but definitely will always have a soft spot for Burleigh and the Goldy (Justin Lane, Club Burleigh etc. etc.)

How did you get to shoot for Mamph?

I am fortunate to know the founder & owner! Sam and I used to work together when were younger and have always gotten on so well. Recently Sam shot me a message and asked if I would be interested in doing this shoot, I have never modelled before - definite rookie! But I thought why not? I want to give everything a try and really take advantage of new opportunities, even if they're scary (I.e. Getting your gear off).

What's your favourite piece this season?

They're all so amazing & such nice fabric too! It is hard to pick just one, BUT my favourite would probably have to be the high-waisted bikini set, in the dark earth tones. It is very retro and Halle Berry James Bond-esque.

What does a normal day look like for you?

A normal day for me would probably be working! I work in Lennox Head which is such a privilege - so I really try and take advantage of that by maximising my working days with a walk or arvo swim! Daylight savings is the best and genuinely makes that possible. On days off I catch up with mates and bounce between the suburbs of the Northern Rivers.

Beach essentials?

I am an absolute shocker with beach essentials, I always forget a towel and never have sunblock. I never forget my phone or sunnies though! So essentially, never go to the beach with me because I almost always have to scab off my friends & sharing a towel is never fun.

With Mamph being your first shoot - what do you do for a living?

I am a Pharmacist! I practice full time in Lennox Head - a new medical centre & pharmacy that has opened up down there. I graduated my bachelor degree last year and have recently just sat and passed my final government registration exams post completing my mandatory hours practice! So I am so stoked to be officially wrapping up this 5 years of study. It has been wild and super challenging career already, I can't wait to see where I end up. I have exciting prospects to go back and complete some post graduate study in Oncology, Politics & Theology, so we shall see!
